DELAWARE, Ohio – The Hendrix College field hockey team recorded their second consecutive shutout, blanking Ohio Wesleyan University 2-0 on the road Monday afternoon. The Warriors (2-1) outshot the Battling Bishops (1-1) 18-3 overall and 9-1 in shots on goal.

Sophomore forward Erika Jasso put the Warriors on the board in the 26th minute on a pass from senior forward Kelly Rappe'. Senior defender Maggie DesPain blasted Hendrix' second goal into the cage on a penalty corner pass from junior Elizabeth Lancaster in the 55th minute.

The shutout was the 10th in the career of sophomore goalkeeper Betsy Kelly, adding to her school record. The Houston, Texas native recorded one save in the win. OWU's Karson Stevenson had six saves and Calina Hilyard added a defensive save.

Hendrix will be off until Sept. 15 when they open Southern Athletic Association play at Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky.
