CONWAY, Ark. – The Hendrix College women's basketball team suffered a 73-62 defeat at the hands of Birmingham-Southern College in Southern Athletic Association action on Friday night.
The host Warriors (0-16, 0-5) committed just two turnovers and in the opening half and led 35-33 at the break. In the second half, Hendrix took a 42-36 with 13:55 left to play after a fastbreak layup by junior center
Jamie Tate. The Panthers (7-9, 2-3) rallied with a 10-1 run over the next two minutes to gain a 46-43 lead with 11:47 to play. BSC extended their lead to as many as 16 late in the game.
For the game, the Warriors shot 37 percent (26-of-70) and went 5-of-17 from three-point range and 5-of-10 at the free throw line. The Panthers shot 46 percent (25-of-54), 10-of-23 from outside and 13-of-15 at the line. BSC also had a 48-30 rebound advantage. Hendrix committed a season-best seven turnovers in the game.

Lindsay Drillette led Hendrix with a career-best 15 points. Freshman point guard
Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler had 10 points and five assists and freshman forward
Katy Gallien came off the to add 10. Tate came up with nine points, 10 rebounds and tied her career-high with five assists. Junior forward
Katie Coughran also scored nine points.
Elizabeth Bromirski led the Panthers with 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting. Melanie Short had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Caroline King registered 10 points and nine boards. Alex Adams also had 10 points and Kelsey Brown dished out six assists.
Hendrix will host Millsaps on Sunday at 1 p.m.
