SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Hendrix College men's basketball team lost 68-56 to Sewanee – The University of the South in Southern Athletic Association action on Sunday afternoon.
The host Tigers (10-7, 3-5) shot 58 percent (26-of-45) from the field, while the Warriors (6-13, 1-7) managed to just shoot 42 percent (21-of-50).
Tied at 14-14 with 8:59 to play in the opening period, Sewanee went on a 10-0 run over the next 2:14 to go up 24-14. The Tigers took a 37-27 lead into halftime. In the second half, Sewanee would lead by as many as 19 and the Warriors came within seven points with just under a minute to play.
Hendrix also shot 6-of-25 from three-point territory and 8-of-15 at the free throw line. Sewanee went 4-of-11 from outside and 12-of-19 at the stripe. The Tigers held a slight 31-28 rebound edge.

Alec Conard led the Warriors with 12 points and five rebounds off the bench. Sophomore forward

Will Roland had a season-best nine points on 3-of-3 shooting from outside.
Five players scored in double-figures for the Tigers. Tyler Brown led the way with 15 points, followed by Brett Bouldin with 13 points, six rebounds and three assists. Keshonn Carter and Will Downey netted 12 points each and Valentino Bryant added 11.
Hendrix will go back on the road for a conference game at Birmingham-Southern College on Friday.
