CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College volleyball secured the program's first winning season by sweeping Sewanee - The University of the South 25-21, 25-23, 25-19 in Southern Athletic Association action on Sunday.
With the win, the Warriors improve to 16-11 overall and 7-7 in conference play. The Tigers fall to 13-12 and 4-10. Hendrix finish the SAA regular season in a third-place tie with Millsaps and Birmingham-Southern and have the tiebreaker over both schools. They will face the sixth-seed Rhodes at the SAA Tournament in Mount Berry, Ga. on Nov. 8-10.
In the match with Sewanee, Hendrix hit .352, the second highest percentage of the year, to go with 53 kills, six aces, 60 digs and four blocks. The Tigers hit .241 with 39 kills, two aces, 57 digs and two blocks.

Katie Burchfield led the Warriors with 15 kills and no errors to hit .484. The Cabot, Ark. native also recorded a career-high 24 digs. Freshman outside

Grace Griffin connected on eight kills with no errorrs on nine attacks to hit .889. Freshman right side

Jamie Sue Watson led Sewanee with 19 kills, 13 digs and hit .410. Diamond Stewart had 11 kills and Kayla Sewell had 13 digs.
Hendrix will finish the regular season on Saturday when they face Mississippi College and Martin Methodist in non-conference action in Memphis, Tenn.
