SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Hendrix College volleyball lost a Southern Athletic Association match to Sewanee - The University of the South 25-20, 25-16, 22-25, 14-25, 15-13 at Juhan Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
In the deciding set, the Warriors (11-8, 2-4) held a 13-12 lead, but a pair of errors and a kill by Kayla Sewell gave the Tigers (11-6, 2-4) the five-set victory.
For the match, Sewanee hit .261 with 56 kills, six aces, 60 digs and eight blocks, while Hendrix hit .178 with 52 kills, four aces, 59 digs and three blocks.

Katie Burchfield led the Warriors with 13 kills and had two blocks and freshman middle blocker
Jen Karnes connected on a season-high 12 kills. Freshman right side
Natalie Masten added 10 kills. Sophomore
Felicia Beeman came up with 16 digs and freshman
Katie Beard had nine. Senior setter
Zoe Calhoun had a season-best 35 assists.
Sewell paced the Tigers with 19 kills and 15 digs. Jamie Sue Wilson recorded 12 kills and four blocks and Jamie Kosman had 12 digs.
Hendrix will travel to Danville, Ky. for a conference match against Centre College on Sunday.
