TYLER, Texas - The Hendrix College women's basketball team lost to the University of Texas at Tyler 98-57 at the Herrington Patriot Center on Saturday afternoon.

The host Patriots (2-1) led 46-32 at halftime and outscored the Warriors (1-3) 52-25 in the second half.

UTT shot 50 percent from the field (36-of-72) and 6-of-18 from three-point range. They were also 20-of-27 at the free throw line. Hendrix shot 33 percent (14-of-42), 2-of-10 from outside and 27-of-35 at the line. The Patriots had a 33-31 rebound advantage. Hendrix turned the ball over 29 times, leading to 46 points, while UTT had 12 turnovers, leading to just 11 points for the Warriors.

Senior center Jamie Tate led the Orange & Black with 12 points and 12 rebounds for her first double-double of the year. Freshman guard Taylor Neal scored nine points and freshman point guard Melanie Martin came off the bnech to score eight.

Brittany King led the Patriots with 18 points, six rebounds and four steals. Taylor Seals scored 16 points and Madison Wilson had 12.

Hendrix will play at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark. on Tuesday.
