DANVILLE, Ky. - The Hendrix College field hockey ended their season with a 3-1 loss to Transylvania University in the opening round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament on Friday night.
The Warriors (0-14) recorded season highs in shots and shots on goal, outshooting the Pioneers (8-10) 16-12 and 9-8.
Kayla Thurlow scored in the 16th minute then Thurlow and Maddie King assisted Shelby Perkins on a penalty corner in the 30th minute to give TU a 2-0 lead.
Senior defender
Jennifer Koller found the cage on an assist from freshman forward
Raychl Reger in the 38th minute to cut the game to 2-1. The Pioneers added a final goal in the 45th minute when Perkins Macaulay Schifferdecker's score.
Junior
Erika Jasso led the Warriors with three shots on goal and junior
Lotte Kraaijenbrink took two.
Freshman
Gabryele Pochron recorded five saves in goal for Hendrix. Sara Ashbacher had eight saves for the Pioneers.
The game was the final in the career's of three Warrior seniors -
