CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team lost their Southern Athletic Association opener to #20 Rhodes College 72-34 at Grove Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
The visiting Lynx (5-0, 1-0) led 32-20, then scored the first 23 points of the second half to control the game.
The Warriors (2-5, 0-1) shot just 24 percent (12-of-51) from the field for the game, and was 2-of-16 from outside and 8-of-12 at the free throw line. Rhodes shot 40 percent (29-of-72) from the field, 8-of-26 from three-point range and 6-of-7 from the line. The Lynx held a 53-32 rebound advantage, and scored 27 second chance points, compared to just three for the Warriors.

Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler led the Orange & Black with seven points to go with four rebounds. Senior forward
Katie Coughran came off the bench to score six points and sophomore guard

Melanie Martin had three assists and two steals.
All-American Lauren Avant led Rhodes with 26 points and 14 rebounds to go with four assists, two steals and two blocks. Dy'Nelle Todman scored 12 points and guard Sarah Johnson had 10 points, eight assists and six boards.
Hendrix will host Rust College on Monday in non-conference action.
