CONWAY, Ark. – The Hendrix College men's basketball team fell short with a 63-60 Southern Athletic Association loss to Oglethorpe University at Garrison Court on Friday night.
The host Warriors (7-15, 2-9) took a 50-45 lead after a lay-up from freshman guard
Jordan Barrett with 9:01 left to play. The Stormy Petrels (15-7, 7-4) flipped the lead with a 14-4 run, going up 59-54 with five minutes remaining. After a pair of free throws by
Colton Primm and basket by
Luke Vance, Hendrix cut the lead to just one at the 3:28 mark. OU's Christian Molinet extended the lead to 61-58 with a jumper, but Primm scored inside on a pass from Vance to make the score 61-60 with 2:25 to play. Molinet added another bucket 23 seconds later to give the Petrels a 63-60 lead.
The Warriors missed two shots on their next possession, giving Oglethorpe the ball back with 1:07 left. The Petrels turned the ball over with 30 seconds left after a shot clock violation. For the game, the Warriors shot 35 percent (20-of-57) and were 7-of-21 from three-point range and 13-of-17 at the free throw line. The Stormy Petrels shot 46 percent (24-of-52) overall, 6-of-20 from outside and 9-of-10 at the line.

Jordan Kinney led OU with 16 points and eight boards. Tyler Courson had 13 points off the bench and Branden Jovaag scored 11. Molinet finished with 10 points.
Hendrix will return to Grove Gymnasium on Sunday when they host Berry College at 3 p.m.
