CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's soccer team suffered a 7-1 defeat to the University of the Ozarks at Hurie Field on Wednesday evening. The host Eagles (3-0-1) outshot the Warriors (1-3-1) 13-9 overall and 8-4 in shots on goal.

Hendrix freshman forward Anthony Galick opened the scoring in the third minute on a header after a pass from junior defender Greg Gandy. Ozarks tied the game in the 13th minute when Gage Merritt scored on an assist from Marcus Aldaba. Aldaba also assisted the go-ahead goal in the 21st minute, scored by Thomas Mills.

Ozarks went on to score five times in the second half, with Matt Weaver scoring twice and Aldaba ending up with four assists.

Freshman midfielder Jimmy DesPain and sophomore midfielder Jacob Pierce also recorded shots on goal for Hendrix. Galick took two shots on goal.

Eagle keeper Austin Brenner had three saves.

Hendrix will host the Warrior Classic on this weekend - opening with Centenary College of Louisiana on Saturday at 2 p.m.
