SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Hendrix College field hockey lost to Sewanee - The University of the South 6-2 in a road Southern Athletic Association game on Sunday.
The host Tigers (4-3, 2-2) outshot the Warriors (0-6, 0-4) 48-8 overall and 35-6 on goal. Freshman keeper
Gabryele Pochron, the nation's leader in saves, kept the Warriors in the game with 29 saves, the second most in school history.
Karen Dawson recorded two goals in an assist in the first 10 minutes to put Sewanee up 3-0. After goal from Zuie Billings early in the second half, Hendrix junior midfielder
Lotte Kraaijenbrink scored in the 40th minute to cute the lead to 4-1. Kat Mulligan and Dawson add another goal each, before Warrior senior
Lindsay Chott added her second goal of her career in the 59th minute for the final score.
Kraaijenbrink and Chott toook two shots on goal each for the Warriors. Dawson finished with a hat trick and an assist for the Tigers. Carrie Anderson added a goal and two assists.
Hendrix will take on SAA foe Centre College in Danville, Ky. on Saturday.
