CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team wrapped up their non-conference schedule by downing Centenary College of Louisiana 81-69 at Grove Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. The victory was the third straight for the Warriors, who improve to 6-6 on the season.
Hendrix built an early 20-9 lead, but the visiting Ladies (0-9) fought back to go up 34-31 with 3:02 left in the first half. The Warriors ended the half with a 12-4 run to take a 43-37 advantage into the half. Centenary would get as close as 49-46 with 14:54 to play, but Hendrix held the lead and expanded it to as many as 12 points.
For the game, the Warriors shot a season-best 43.5 percent (30-of-69) overall, 3-of-10 from outside and 18-of-28 at the free throw line. The Ladies shot 35.4 percent (23-of-65) from the floor, 1-of-7 from outside and 22-of-27 at the stripe. Hendrix held a 46-41 rebound advantage and had a season-best 10 blocked shots and a season-low 10 turnovers.
Freshman guard 
Taylor Neal led the Warriors with 16 points to go with two assists, two blocks and a steal. Freshman forward 
Anna King came off the bench for 12 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots. Sophomore point guard 
Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler added 11 points and dished out a career-high 10 assists, tied for the fourth most in school history. Freshman guard 
Melanie Martin scored a season-best 10 points and senior center 
Jamie Tate had nine points, 11 boards and two steals. Sophomore forward 
Katy Gallien chipped in seven points.
DeiAnna Hall led the Ladies with 22 points and seven rebounds. Kayla Ruth had 10 points and even rebounds off the bench. Rhonda Martin recorded five assists.
Hendrix will resume Southern Athletic Association play on Friday when they host Oglethorpe at 6 p.m.
