Centre started out the match with a hot hand, hitting .381 against the Warriors in the first set. The Colonels earned a 25-19 win behind four kills apiece from Suzanne Asbury and Jessica Peak. With a 1-0 lead, Centre entered the second set with an upset bid in mind.

Hendrix nearly went down 2-0, but narrowly escaped the second set with a 25-22 victory to tie the match at 1-1. The Warriors jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the set, and held their four-point lead until the Colonels came charging back. Centre cut the lead to 21-20 on back-to-back kills from Asbury and Beth Cecil, but MC Rogers and Bradi Ryan finished the set off with a pair of kills to help the Warriors tie the match.

In the third, the top-seeded Hendrix took control. Ryan and Rogers each notched five kills in the third set while Sara Dyslin registered three kills and closed the set out with a pair of aces as the Warriors rolled to a 25-19 win to take a 2-1 lead.

The Warriors earned 17 kills in the fourth and final set while holding the Colonels to just six. Hendrix totaled a .469 hitting percentage in the final set while limiting Centre to just .037. The Warriors were 11-for-11 on sideouts, never allowing the Colonels to serve more than once at a time. Hendrix carried their momentum through the fourth set to a 25-11 victory to ice the match with a 3-1 win.
