SHREVEPORT, La. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team easily defeated Centenary College of Louisiana 69-51 at the Gold Dome on Tuesday afternoon.
With 14:04 left in the first half, the Warriors (3-7) led 13-10, but ended the opening period by outscoring the Ladies (0-10) 29-5 to take control with a 42-15 lead at the break. Centenary outscored Hendrix 36-27, but the first half deficit was too much to overcome. Hendrix led by as many as 31 with nine minutes to play.
For the game, the Warriors shot 43.5 percent (27-of-62) from the field and went 5-of-13 from outside and 10-of-16 at the line. The Ladies shot 26.6 percent (17-of-64) overall, 2-of-6 from three-point range and 15-of-26 at the free throw line. Hendrix held a huge 56-38 advantage on the boards.

Anna King paced the Orange & Black with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman center
Madison Martin recorded season-highs with 12 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in 14 minutes off the bench. Junior forward
Katy Gallien was perfect from the field to net eight points. Junior guard
Estrella Flores had eight points, six boards, three assists and two steals and junior point guard
Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler recorded seven points and six assists. Freshman center
Sara Dyslin added seven points, seven rebounds and three assists and freshman guard
Leah Smith scored six points. The Hendrix bench combined for 33 points.
Briana Edwards led Centenary with 22 points, 19 rebounds, five blocks and four steals. Rebecca Thompson scored 13 points and Linda Gomez Gil had four assists. The Ladies' starting backcourt combined to shoot 2-of-28 from the floor.
Hendrix will take on Rust College in Holly Springs, Miss. on Saturday.
