SHERMAN, Texas - The Hendrix College women's basketball team lost to Austin College 75-59 on the road at Hughey Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
The visiting Warriors (2-5) held as much as a seven-point lead in the first half and led for most of the period. The 'Roos (3-3) ended the opening half with a three-pointer by Christina Kime with two seconds left to tie the game at 28-28 going in to the break.

Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler gave the Orange & Black a 41-40 advantage with 12:47 to play. Austin answered with a 17-4 run over the next seven minutes to take control of the game. The 'Ross would expand their lead to as many as 19 in the final minute of the game.
Hendrix shot 37.1 percent (23-of-62) from the field, but struggled from outside, going just 4-of-20 from behind the arc. They were also 9-of-14 at the line. Austin shot only 28 percent in the first period, but managed to hit 57 percent of their shots in the second. On the day, the 'Ross shot 41.7 percent (25-of-60) from the field, 9-of-20 from three-point range and 16-of-21 at the line. AC held a slight 41-38 rebound advantage and won the turnover battle 10-14.
Freshman center
Sara Dyslin came off the bench to record her third consecutive double-double for the Warriors with season-highs of 18 points and 14 rebounds - nine of which were on the offensive end. Kriesel-Bigler scored 10 points and dished out 10 assists, tied for the fourth most helpers in school history. It was the second time of the Austin, Texas native's career that she hit double-digit assists. Sophomore forward

Madison Martin grabbed five rebounds in eight minutes. Junior guard
Estrella Flores scored eight points and junior forward
Katy Gallien had six points and four assists.
Erin Riley scored 15 points and had seven rebounds for Austin. Kali Vittallo also had 15 points and Brianna Harvey came up with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Kime finished with 10 points and seven assists.
Hendrix will have a 13-day layoff before taking on Austin again on Friday, Dec. 19 in Conway.
