SHREVEPORT, La. - The Hendrix College men's basketball team lost to Centenary College of Louisiana 93-63 at the Gold Dome on Sunday afternoon.
The Warriors (3-4) committed 22 first half turnovers, leading to 33 points for the Gents (3-5), who led 49-19 at halftime.
Hendrix shot 49 percent (25-of-51) for the game, 4-of-16 from three-point range and 9-of-22 at the free throw line. Centenary shot 48.6 percent (34-of-70) overall, 9-of-21 from outside and 16-of-17 at the line. The Gents had a 37-35 rebound edge and won the turnover battle 13-26. The home team ended the game with 13 steals, while the Orange & Black recorded three.
Sophomore guard
Aaron Steele led the Warriors with a career-high 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting off the bench. Senior forward
Luke Vance had nine points and eight rebounds and
Hank Aldous and
Jordan Barrett each chipped in nine as well. Sophomore guard
Travis Garrett scored seven points and freshman
Sean Criswell added four. Sophomore point guard
Gabe Gumm had three points and three assists.
Cade Cheramie led the Gents with 17 points and four assists. Justin Cueto scored 15 and James Sapp had 14 points and eight boards. Travion Kirkendoll also scored 15 points to go with four assists.
Hendrix will be off until Dec. 19 when they host Austin College in Conway.
