ATLANTA - The Hendrix College women's basketball team rolled to a 72-53 Southern Athletic Association victory at Oglethorpe University on Friday night.
With their fourth consecutive win, the Warriors (11-11, 5-6) move into a tie for fourth place with Birmingham-Southern with three games to play before the SAA Tournament in two weeks. The Stormy Petrels fall to 4-18 overall and 2-9 in league play.
Hendrix shot 56.7 percent (17-of-30) in the first period to take a 46-21 lead into the break. The 46 points was the most in a half this season for the Warriors. The Orange & Black would expand their lead to as many as 29 in the second period.
For the game, Hendrix shot 40.3 percent (25-of-62) overall, 6-of-20 from outside and 16-of-17 from the free throw line. Their 94.1 percent performance at the charity stripe was the third best in school history.
OU shot 28.8 percent (15-of-52) overall, 2-of-11 from three-point range and 21-of-29 at the line. The Warriors held a 42-35 edge in rebounding and outscored the Petrels 32-18 in the paint.

Taylor Neal led Hendrix with 17 points to go with three assists. Sophomore point guard
Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler scored 16 points and hit four three-pointers. Senior center
Jamie Tate pulled down 13 rebounds and netted seven points and freshman
Peyton Hurst added six points off the bench. Sophomore forward
Katy Gallien recorded five points, five boards and five assists.
Alana Bentley paced Oglethorpe with 13 points and had six rebounds. Kendelle Culpepper scored 10 points and Emily Buck had 11. Ciara Hughes grabbed eight rebounds off the bench.
Hendrix will try to continue their win streak at Berry College on Sunday.
