DANVILLE, Ky. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team suffered an 81-38 loss at Centre College on Friday night.

With the loss, the Warriors fall to 11-13 on the year and 5-8 in the Southern Athletic Association, while the Colonels improve to 16-8 and 10-3. With one game left in the regular season, Hendrix sits in a tie for fifth place with Berry. The Warriors play at last-place Sewanee on Sunday, while the Vikings take on fourth-place Birmingham-Southern on the road.

Centre secured the second seed for next weekend's SAA Tournament to be played in Memphis, Tenn.

The Warriors shot just 16 percent (4-of-25) from the field in the first half, while the Colonels shot 56 percent (14-of-25) to gain a 48-10 lead at the break. Centre outscored Hendrix 33-28 in the second period.

For the game, Hendrix shot 23.2 percent (13-of-56) overall, 2-of-11 from outside and 10-of-19 from the free throw line. Centre shot 41.8 percent (23-of-55), 7-of-19 from three-point range and 28-of-33 at the line. The Colonels had a 46-35 advantage in rebounding and committed 18 turnovers to the Warriors' 27.

Sophomore guard Estrella Flores led Hendrix with a season-high nine points and three steals. Senior center Jamie Tate had eight points and eight rebounds and freshman guard Taylor Neal added six points. Sophomore Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler had five points and freshman post Anna King had four points and seven boards. Freshman center Haylee Mendenall added four points and five boards.

Paige Baechle led the Colonels with 16 points and eight rebounds and Alanna Guy had 15 points and three assists. Alexis Guy scored 13 points off the bench and Mary Gordon Stough had 12 points and seven rebounds.
