SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Hendrix College men's basketball ended the regular season with a 54-51 loss to Sewanee - The University of the South at Juhan Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.
The Warriors enter the Southern Athletic Association Tournament with a 10-15 overall record and 4-10 mark in league play. They will be the seventh seed and face #2 Birmingham-Southern at 6 p.m. eastern time in Danville, Ky. on Friday.
The Tigers improve to 13-12 overall and 6-8 in conference.
Sewanee led the majority of the first half and took a 25-17 lead into the break. Trailing 33-19 with 17:14 left in the game, Hendrix went on a 16-4 run over the next nine minutes to tie game at 37-37 with 8:26 to play. The Tigers pushed the lead back to as many as five in the final minutes. A layup from junior forward
Luke Vance made the game 53-51 with 1:07 left.
Drew Nikolovski's three-point attempt with 18 seconds left was off the mark and the Tigers got the rebound and was fouled. Seth Brown made one of two free throws with 12 seconds remaining to give Sewanee a 54-51 lead. Vance's three point attempt with two seconds left also missed, allowing the Tigers to escape with the win.
Hendrix shot 42.9 percent (18-of-42) from the field, 2-of-8 from three-point range and 13-of-19 at the line. Sewanee shot 33.9 percent (19-of-56) from the floor, 3-of-16 from outside and 13-of-17 at the stripe. The Tigers held a 35-32 edge in rebounds.

Colton Primm led the Warriors with 19 points, seven rebounds and four blocks. Vance finished with 13 points and six rebounds. Sophomore guard
John Ogle added seven points and six rebounds off the bench and freshman
Gabe Gumm had seven points and three assists.
Jorden Williams paced Sewanee with 18 points and Keshonn Carter had 15 points, nine boards, two blocks and two steals.
