MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Hendrix College women's basketball season came to an end on Friday as the Warriors lost to Centre College 64-50 in the first round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament.
The sixth-seeded Warriors end the season with a 12-14 record, while the #3 Colonels advance to the semi-finals at 17-9.
Hendrix led 18-8 with 5:54 left in the first half, but Centre ended the period on a 24-9 run to take a 32-27 lead into halftime. After a lay-up from senior center
Jamie Tate to start the second half cut the deficit to three points, the Colonels would maintain a 6-14 point lead the rest of the contest.
The Warriors shot 32.7 percent from the field (17-of-52) and were just 1-of-16 from three-point range, and 15-of-20 at the free throw line. The Colonels shot 35.8 percent (19-of-53) overall, 7-of-11 from outside and 19-of-21 at the line. Centre had a 38-34 rebounding edge.

Anna King led the Warriors with 14 points and three blocks to go with five rebounds. Freshman guard
Taylor Neal added 12 points and Tate recorded nine points and nine boards. Sophomore
Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler scored seven points and pulled down seven rebounds.
Paige Baechle led Centre with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Maggie Hartlage scored 18 and Alanna Guy had 11.
The game was the final in the career of three Warrior seniors - Tate, forward
