Box Score 2 CONWAY, Ark. - After earning a pair of 3-0 sweeps in day one of the Hendrix Classic, the Hendrix College volleyball team stayed perfect in their tournament, sweeping Williams Baptist College and Philander Smith College each by the score of 3-0.
Senior Ella Concavage-Nassar crossed a career milestone on the afternoon, earning her 1000th career dig in the win against Williams Baptist. The libero led the team with 16 digs in the match against WBC and 13 digs against Philander Smith.
Against WBC, the talented trio of
MC Rogers,
Lauren Petrisin and
Bradi Ryan each finished with double-digit kills.
Marlee Matlock and
Allison Gaia split the setting duty, dishing off 22 assists each, and
Samantha Stockdale led the team defensively with a solo block and three block assists.Â
The squad edged out a 25-21 win in the first set before taking the second and third with identical 25-19 scores.Â
In the Warriors' second match of the day,
Grace Griffin registered 10 kills, her second highest single-match total of the season. Griffin was one of 12 different Warriors to earn a kill in the match.
Holyn Duyck led the team with 18 assists while
Katie Beard finished with three service aces and 11 digs.
Hendrix managed to keep Philander Smith from reaching 20 points in any of their sets, routing the Panthers 25-11, 25-16, 25-18.Â
The Warriors improve to 11-2 on the season and will return to action on September 20th when they face Centre College and Thomas More College in Danville, Ky. Â Â
