JACKSON, Miss. - The Hendrix College men's soccer team ended their season with a 6-2 loss to Millsaps College in the first round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament Saturday night.
The Warriors end the year 3-10-3, while the second seed Majors improve to 12-4.
Millsaps' Alex Bourland scored 1:53 into the game. Matt Crooker and Taylor Hayes would add goals late in the first half to go up 3-0.
In the second half, Lukas Elmhammar scored on a penalty kick and Bourland scored again in the 51st minute. Nico Roth added a sixth goal in the 60th minute.
Hendrix scored in the 85th minute on a goal by junior forward
Oscar Stjernquist. He then assisted
Dalton Clement's goal 1:07 later.
For the game, Millsaps outshot Hendrix 19-10 overall and 11-6 on goal.
Saturday brought the end of the career of eight Warrior seniors -
Jerry Thomeczek,
John McGrath,
Levi Jabben,
Larry Bringard,
Will Embry,
Vincent Sabourin,
Jacob Pierce and
Steven Cochrun.
Hendrix Notes- Stjernquist ends the season second in the team with four goals and two assists.
- Clement's goal was the second this season.
- Thomeczek recorded five saves.

Millsaps Notes- Roth had a goal and three assists.
- Bourland finishes with two goals and two assists. Elmhammar had one of each.
- Keeper Jonathan Huebbe recorded four saves in 67 minutes.
