Women's Soccer Season Comes to End at Rhodes

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Hendrix College women's soccer 2015 season came to an end with a 3-2 overtime loss at Rhodes College in first round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament Saturday.

The Warriors, under second year head coach Jeff Trimble, finish the year 10-8-1 and tied the team record for wins in a season. The Lynx, the third seed in the tournament, improve to 11-5-1.

Senior forward Samantha Lallas gave Hendrix an early lead on an assist from junior midfielder Sydney Fobare in the 26th minute. Sarah Rostamo tied the game with 19 seconds left in the first half.

Rhodes took the lead in the 63rd minute on a goal by Sarah Watcher. The Warriors tied it at 2-2 less than two minutes later when Lallas assisted a goal by sophomore midfielder Lucy Moore.

The Lynx won the game on a Hannah Selner penalty kick 4:15 into overtime.

For the game Rhodes outshot Hendrix 32-7 overall and 19-5 on goal. The Lynx also held a 12-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Hendrix Notes
- Saturday marks the end of the careers for five seniors - Lallas, Sydney King, Rachel Zweig, Danielle Luther and student assistant Michaela Seltzer.
- Lallas finishes the year with 16 goals and 10 assists and her career with 47 goals and 27 assists for 121 points.
- Fobare's assist was the second in her career.
- Moore finished the year with 15 goals.
- Sophomore keeper Jordan Rausch tied her career high with 15 saves.

Rhodes Notes
- Selner led the Lynx with four shots on goal. Shannon Donelson took three.
- Chandler Kuhlman stopped three shots in goal.
