Hendrix' Season Comes to End at SAA Tourney

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Hendrix College field hockey team's season came to an end in the first round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament on Friday. The Warriors (3-14) lost to Transylvania University (2-13) 2-1.

Hendrix scored the first goal of the game in the 14th minute when freshman Holly Heeb found the cage for her fourth goal of the season.

The Pioneers tied it up in the 16th minute on a Katie Jackel goal. Caroline Patrick scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 20th minute.

Transy outshot Hendrix 11-6 overall and 8-6 on goal. The Pioneers had a slight 11-10 advantage in penalty corner chances.

Hendrix Notes
- Friday marked the end of the career for Morgan Fires and Debbie Crawford.
- Heeb finished second on the team with four goals as a freshman.
- Fires, Miya Loudermilk, Madeline Neely and Molly Records each took a shot on goal.
- Junior Gabryele Pochron, the national leader in saves, recorded six saves. She moved into 20th place on the NCAA Division III career saves list with 781.

Transylvania Notes
- Kayla Thurlow, Patrick and Jessica Chandler had two shots on goal each.
- Allyson Benz recorded one save in the first half. Sidney Lococo had four saves in the second half.
