Wasps Sting Warriors at Year-End Classic

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Hendrix College men's basketball team suffered a 73-63 loss to Emory & Henry College at the Rhodes Year-End Classic Tuesday afternoon.

The Warriors (1-10) led 35-34 at halftime after nine ties and nine lead changes in the first period. With Hendrix leading 41-39 with 15:51 left to play, the Wasps (5-5) went on a 18-7 run over the next eight minutes to take a 57-48 lead. The Orange & Black cut the deficit to 61-56 at the 4:49 mark, but Emory & Henry scored the next eight points to take control of the game.

The Warriors shot 35.6 percent (21-of-59) from the field, 7-of-22 from outside and 14-of-19 at the free throw line. The Wasps shot 46.7 percent (28-of-60) overall, 5-of-19 from three-point range and 12-of-21 at the line. E&H also had a 41-37 rebound advantage.

- Forward John Ogle scored a career-high 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for his second career double-double.
- Senior guard Drew Nikolovski scored 10 points and hit a pair of three-pointers.
- Freshman point guard Preston Smith added nine points and tied his season-high with six assists.
- Junior center Gearen Littlefield had seven points and six boards.
- Junior guard Travis Garrett added six points and five rebounds.

Emory & Henry Notes
- CHase Branscomb led the Wasps with 16 points off the bench.
- Ryan Gravley scored 13 points with three assists.
- Myles Turner had 12 points, six rebounds and three assists.
- John Shelor finished with 10 points and two steals.
- Brandon Self led E&H with 10 rebounds.
