Hendrix Triumphs over Dallas, 16-1

CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's lacrosse team earned their first win of the season, downing University of Dallas 16-1 in a lopsided affair on Sunday afternoon. The Warriors dominated all facets of the game on their way to the second-largest margin of victory in program history.

Raychl Reger led the Warriors with six points, scoring three goals and dishing out three assists. Bridget Umble scored a team-high five goals while Shelby Hill added three scores and an assist. Landri Wenzel scored twice, passed out three assists, and led the team with six ground balls.  Gabryele Pochron tied the program record with five caused turnovers, and scooped five ground balls as well.

Hendrix jumped on the Lady Crusaders from the opening whistle, scoring eight consecutive goals to open the game. Michaela Seltzer opened the flood gates 3:02 into the contest, scoring her first career goal. The Warriors followed suit with seven more scores before Erin Chadwick put Dallas on the board with a free position goal with 3:17 remaining in the first half. Hendrix took an 8-1 advantage into the halftime break.

In the second half, Hendrix continued to pile on the goals, generating scoring opportunities from defensive pressure. The Warriors' goalkeeping combination of Rebecca Alexander and Jannice Bonilla held the Lady Crusaders scoreless throughout the entire second half as the Orange and Black cruised to the 16-1 victory.

Hendrix improves to 1-1 on the season and will return to action on Feburary 20 when they travel to Demorest, Ga. to take on Piedmont College.

Hendrix Notes
- The Warriors set single-game program records in points (23) and assists (7) in the victory
- Landri Wenzel and Raychl Reger each broke the single-game record for most assists by an individual with three apiece.
- Through two games, Bridget Umble has notched eight goals, the most by any Warrior in their first two games in program history.
- Wenzel set new career-high marks in points (5), assists (3), and ground balls (6).
- Rebecca Alexander earned the win in net, making four saves and allowing just one goal in 50:27 between the pipes.

Dallas Notes
- Erin Chadwick scored her first career goal on a free position shot in the final minutes of the first half.
- Christine Jablonsky made 15 saves in net for the Lady Crusaders.
- Chadwick and Hayley Rodgers each led the team in ground balls with four apiece.
- Seven different Lady Crusaders recorded one caused turnover on the day.
