CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's lacrosse team fell 12-7 to Southern Athletic Association rival Millsaps College on Friday night at Warrior Field. Before the game the squad honored lone senior Landri Wenzel for her two years of play with the team.

Wenzel finished with a team-high three caused turnovers and picked up a pair of ground balls for the Warriors. Reilly Frazier led the home team with four ground balls, while five different members of the Orange and Black registered three apiece. Kaitlyn Smith and Bridget Umble each scored a pair of goals, while Raychl Reger finished with a goal and an assist.

The Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of play. Frazier buried a free-position shot to give the team their first goal. Less than a minute later, Jordan Rausch made a pretty pass in front of the net to Umble who cashed in for a 2-0 lead. Smith followed shortly after with another goal to give the team an early advantage. Smith added a second tally with 10 minutes to play, but the Majors rallied to cut the lead to 4-3 before the halftime intermission.

In the second half, the Majors scored two goals in the first 90 seconds of the period to take a 5-4 lead. Umble knotted the game just over a minute later with her second score but the Majors responded with a nother fast-break goal to regain the lead. Trailing 6-5, Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler scooped up a loose ball in the defensive zone and pushed it all the way to the Millsaps goal where she netted her first goal of the season, going coast-to-coast to tie the game at 6-6 with 17:38 left.

Millsaps rallied to score four consecutive goals over the next 5:57 to take a 10-6 lead late in the second half. Reger netted her 16th goal of the season with 9:00 remaining in the game to cut the lead to 10-7, but the Majors pulled away with two more late goals to seal the 12-7 victory.
