Prolific Offense Carries Warriors to Win

CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's lacrosse team put up several record numbers on the offensive end on their way to a 19-11 victory over Huntingdon College on Monday afternoon. As a team, the Warriors set new single-game program records for points (27), goals (19), assists (8), and shots (43). 

Bridget Umble led the Warriors in their record-breaking offensive output, scoring seven of the team's 19 goals. Kaitlyn Smith notched four goals and dished out a team-high three assists, while Raychl Reger scored twice and dealt out a pair of helpers. Jordan Rausch and Shelby Hill also scored two goals apiece.

Gabryele Pochron made 11 saves in net for the Orange and Black to earn the win. Reger finished with a program-record 10 draw controls and tied for the team lead in caused turnovers with Hill and Meghan Ayers, each with three. Smith, Reilly Frazier, and Anna King each registered five ground balls to lead the squad.

Hendrix spotted the Lady Hawks a 2-0 lead in the first two minutes of play but stormed back to take a 3-2 lead over the next four minutes. The first half was played evenly for the first 20 minutes, with six ties and four lead changes before the Warriors took over in the final 10 minutes of the frame. Trailing 7-6 with 10:51 remaining, Hendrix scored five unanswered goals to end the period, taking an 11-7 lead into the halftime break. 

In the second half, the Warriors pulled away, outscoring the Lady Hawks 8-4 on their way to a 19-11 victory. Nearly midway through the second half, junior Nini Hoang scored the first goal of her career on an assist from Rausch. Hoang cut through the middle, caught a quick pass from Rausch and snapped it past the keeper for her first score.

Hendrix improves to 3-6 on the season, with all three wins coming at home.

Hendrix Notes
- Bridget Umble's offensive performance placed her in a tie for second in program history in single-game points (8), and fourth in single-game goals (7).
- Kaitlyn Smith tied the program-record for single-game assists, dishing out three of the Warriors' eight helpers.
- 16 of the Warriors' 19 goals came from the freshman class, while first-years registered five of the eight assists.
- In her last four games, Smith has scored 14 goals and handed out six assists, averaging five points per game during the stretch.

Huntingdon Notes
- Lonnitria Keenan led the Lady Hawks with four goals while Candace Williams and Briana Gress each recorded a pair.
- Victoria Krupa made 16 saves in net for Huntingdon but took the loss.
- Jen Price scooped seven ground balls, earned four draw controls, and caused five turnovers, leading the team in all three categories. 

Up Next
The Warriors will head to Kentucky to take on Pikeville on Thursday, before resuming conference play with a game at Centre College on Saturday.
