ST. LOUIS, Mo. - In their final non-conference tune-up of the season, the Hendrix College men's lacrosse team looked sharp as they earned a 19-11 victory over Fontbonne University on Tuesday afternoon.
Carson Boone led all scorers with eight points on six goals and a pair of assists.
Robbie Borrello was one of five Warriors to score a pair of goals, and also dished out three assists.
Travis Rabun,
TK Shaffer,
Patrick Munn, and
Patrick Rogers each notched two scores as well.
Alex Ortenstone won eight faceoffs and gobbled up 12 ground balls to lead the Warriors, while Munn scooped seven.
Reed Mershon and
Will Ross each recorded a team-high three caused turnovers.
Christian Wheeler played the first half in goal, making three saves to earn the win.
Joe Takacs came in for the second half, making seven saves through 30 minutes.
The Warriors jumped all over the Griffins in the early going, outscoring their opponent 7-0 in the first quarter. The squad extended their lead to 10-0 before conceding their first goal of the game. The squad held Fontbonne scoreless for 19:48 before Brett Harris put the home team on the board. The Griffins outscored Hendrix 3-2 in the final 10:12 of the first half, but the Warriors held a comfortable 12-3 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, the Orange and Black scored a pair of goals to open the frame. Boone and Munn each found the net to begin the half, putting the Warriors ahead 14-3. In the final minute, Fontbonne's Harris scored again, but Ortenstone answered with just 10 seconds left to make it 15-4 headed into the final quarter.
Fontbonne outscored Hendrix 8-4 in the fourth quarter, including the final four goals of the game. The Griffins tallied three man-up goals in the final seven minutes, but it wasn't enough to topple the visiting Warriors as they rolled to a 19-11 victory.
Hendrix Notes- The Warriors scooped 46 ground balls on the day, their third highest total of the season.

Thomas Adamo's assist was his second point of the season, and the fourth point recorded by a Hendrix longpole this year.
Fontbonne Notes- Brett Harris led the Griffins with six goals, while Marcus Seale notched three goals and an assist. Joey Mirth dished off four helpers for the home team.
- Seth Yance made 18 saves in the game, but took the loss in net for the Griffins.
- Fontbonne committed 27 turnovers while forcing just one caused turnover on the day.
Up NextHendrix finishes their regular season with four consecutive conference games. The squad travels to Berry College on Saturday to take on the Vikings.
