ATLANTA, Ga. - The Hendrix College baseball team held an early lead against Southern Athletic Association rival Oglethorpe University, but watched it slip away as the team fell 4-3 on Sunday afternoon in Atlanta.

Daniel Imbro had a no-hitter going through six innings, facing the minimum over that span. The no-no was broken up in the seventh by Andre Turnquest, who ripped a double to the left-center gap. The junior tossed 6.2 innings, allowing two runs on three hits. Imbro rung up six while allowing just two walks in a no-decision.
Harley Faye took the loss allowing a pair of runs on two hits in 1.1 innings.

Thomas Weber went 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored, while
Matt Simmons and
James Martin each went 2-for-4 with an RBI apiece.

The Warriors took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third on a pair of big hits. After
Brady Newville was hit by a pitch, Weber ripped a double to left-center.
Matt Simmons brought home Newville with an RBI single and Weber scored on a groundout the next play, giving the Orange and Black the lead.

Hendrix added another run in the sixth on a
James Martin RBI single.
Garrett Reese took a pinch-hit walk to lead off the inning, advanced to third on an error, and came home on the Martin base hit, making it 3-0.

Oglethorpe finally got to Imbro in the seventh, manufacturing a pair of runs on three hits and a walk to cut their deficit to 3-2. The Stormy Petrels took the lead in the bottom of the eighth, scoring a pair of runs on two hits. Andre Turnquest drove in a run on an RBI double and scored two batters later on a fielder's choice, putting the home team ahead 4-3.

In the ninth,
Wyatt Hogan drew a leadoff walk but was left stranded as the Warriors fell to the Petrels for the third straight game.

Hendrix Notes- Imbro faced just 18 batters in his first six innings of work. His one walk was erased by a 3-6 double play.
- The Hendrix starter struck out six Oglethorpe batters, his fourth start with six or more strikeouts. The outing brings Imbro's season total to 40 K's in 34.2 innings.
- Martin recorded his third multi-hit game of the season, Simmons earned his sixth and Weber notched his seventh.
- Hendrix left 14 runners on base during the game, while the Petrels stranded just three.
Oglethorpe Notes- Justin Thigpen earned the win, striking out six in 3.2 innings of relief. He allowed two hits and walked two, shutting out the Warriors down the stretch.
- Andre Turnquest went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two runs and an RBI. Patrick Kulick finished 1-for-4 with two RBI and a run.
- With this year's season sweep of Hendrix, Oglethorpe evened the series with a 5-5 mark against the Warriors since joining the SAA.
Up NextHendrix moves 11-13 on the season and 4-8 in conference play. After eight straight road games, the squad finishes its season with 10 of their last 13 games at home. They host Ozarks (Ark.) on Tuesday at 5 p.m.Â
