Hendrix Rolls to 25-4 Win Over Defiance

CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's lacrosse team recorded another easy win Monday evening, topping Defiance College 25-4 at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium.

The Warriors (4-1) led 18-2 at halftime, then scored seven more in the third, while allowing two goals in the fourth to the Yellow Jackets (0-3).

Sophomore attacker Robbie Borrello scored 10 goals, breaking the old record of eight set earlier this season, and assisted two goals for 12 points. Sophomore Carson Boone also had eight goals and four assists for 12 points. Both players tied the school record of 12 points set by Boone against Dallas earlier this season.

Hendrix won 27-of-32 faceoffs, the most in school history, with sophomores Patrick Munn and Alex Ortenstone collecting 14 and 13, respectively. The Orange & Black's 25 goals was the third most in school history. Their 15 assists was the fourth most and 73 shots was tied for third most. They also picked up 64 ground balls, the fourth most in program history, compared to 29 for Defiance.

Hendrix went 17-of-19 on clear attempts. The Warriors caused 20 of the Yellow Jackets' 29 turnovers.

Hendrix, under fifth-year head coach Curt Foxx, is off their best start in program history at 4-1.

Hendrix Notes
- Junior midfielder Travis Rabun recorded two goals, two assists and seven ground balls.
- Sophomore attacker TK Shaffer also had two goals and two assists.
- Ortenstone had a goal and an assist and picked up 13 ground balls, a career-best and the eighth most in school history.
- Sophomore midfielder Cody Eckes had a goal an assist as well.
- Defenseman Thomas Adamo scored his first career goal and had three ground balls.
- In total, seven different Warriors had goals and nine had assists.
- Junior midfielder Alex Heather registered a career-high nine ground balls.
- Junior Kevin Estell tied his career-high with five caused turnovers and earned four ground balls.
- Munn also caused three turnovers.
- Junior Joe Takacs recorded four saves in goal in the first half and sophomore Christian Wheeler had five saves in the second.

Defiance Notes
- Evan Henry-Singlet led the Yellow Jackets with two goals and had five ground balls.
- Bailey Weatherwax had a goal and two assists.
- Dylan Textor scored DC's other goal.
- Keeper Ricky Potts had 28 saves, including 18 in the second half, and nine ground balls.
- Eddie Minear led the team with four caused turnovers
