Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Hendrix Regular Season ends at Rhodes

CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's lacrosse team dropped a conference contest to nearby rival Rhodes College, falling 20-2 to their Southern Athletic Association opponent.

Gabryele Pochron made 11 saves in the net for the Warriors while Meghan Ayers casued a team-high three turnovers. Ayers joined Raychl Reger and Pochron as the program record holders for career caused turnovers. The sophomore has registered 36 caused turnovers in just under two complete seasons.

Reger and Bridget Umble each scored for the Warriors while Shelby Hill dished off an assist. Anna King and Hill each snagged two draw controls while Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler led the team with four ground balls and also registered a pair of caused turnovers.

The Warriors scored the first tally of the game, taking a 1-0 lead 4:40 into the game. Shelby Hill found Bridget Umble with a pass in front to put the Orange and Black ahead in the early going.

The early goal seemed to catch the Lynx off-guard, but the home team responded in a big way, netting five consecutive goals to regain the lead. Hendrix found the net again at the 18:38 mark of the first half when Raychl Reger beat the Rhodes goalie making it 5-2, but that was as close as the Warriors would draw.

The Lynx finished the first half on a 10-0 run to take a 15-2 advantage into the halftime break. Rhodes tacked on five more goals in the second half and held the Hendrix offense scoreless to earn the 20-2 victory.
