CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's lacrosse team dropped a conference contest to nearby rival Rhodes College, falling 20-2 to their Southern Athletic Association opponent.
Gabryele Pochron made 11 saves in the net for the Warriors while
Meghan Ayers casued a team-high three turnovers. Ayers joined
Raychl Reger and Pochron as the program record holders for career caused turnovers. The sophomore has registered 36 caused turnovers in just under two complete seasons.
Reger and
Bridget Umble each scored for the Warriors while
Shelby Hill dished off an assist.
Anna King and Hill each snagged two draw controls while
Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler led the team with four ground balls and also registered a pair of caused turnovers.
The Warriors scored the first tally of the game, taking a 1-0 lead 4:40 into the game.

The early goal seemed to catch the Lynx off-guard, but the home team responded in a big way, netting five consecutive goals to regain the lead. Hendrix found the net again at the 18:38 mark of the first half when
Raychl Reger beat the Rhodes goalie making it 5-2, but that was as close as the Warriors would draw.Â
The Lynx finished the first half on a 10-0 run to take a 15-2 advantage into the halftime break. Rhodes tacked on five more goals in the second half and held the Hendrix offense scoreless to earn the 20-2 victory.
Hendrix Notes- Umble's goal was her 40th of the season, placing her second among single-season leaders in program history. It also extended her goals streak to eight straight games.
- The Warriors raised their goals per game average by 2.60 goals per game this season, improving from 9.71 to 13.31 goals per game.
- The Hendrix defense has shown marked improvement as well, with a 2.81 increase in caused turnovers per game from 8.50 to 11.31.
Rhodes Notes- Maggie Rippeto finished with nine goals and an assist while Erin Gleeson and Oliva Holmes each notched three goals.
- Sarah Daniels earned the win in net, making three saves in 36 minutes of work.Â
- Rhodes was a perfect 14-for-14 on clear attempts, and won 18-of-24 draw controls on the day.
Up NextHendrix ends their regular season with a 4-9 record and a 1-6 conference mark to finish seventh in the Southern Athletic Association standings. They will face Rhodes College again in the quarterfinal round in the SAA playoffs.
