BRANDON, Miss. - The Hendrix College softball team opened the Southern Athletic Association Tournament with a 7-4 loss to Rhodes College on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors (10-25), the sixth seed, will move on to play Sewanee - The University of the South (0-29), the seventh seed in an elimination game at 4 p.m.

Michaela Larabee reached on a sac bunt error and stole second to put runners on second and third. After a pop up, freshman pitcher
Autumn Martin cleared the bases with a double to left field to give the Orange & Black a 2-0 lead.
The third-seeded Lynx (16-19-1) answered with four runs on four hits and two errors in the bottom of the frame. Caroline Reilly had a RBI single in the inning. Rhodes tacked on three more runs on four hits and an error in the sixth to go up 7-2.
Larabee started the top of the seventh with a lead off single and sophomore second baseman
Victoria Hughes walked. They both advanced to scoring positions on a double steal. Martin followed with a two-run single for the final runs of the game.
Hendrix Notes- Larabee went 2-for-2 with two runs scored. She also stole three bases, tying the school record held by six other players. Larabee is the first Warrior to steal three bases in a game since Cara Tallent in 2005.
- Larabee moves in second on the school career list with 27 stolen bases and third with 102 runs.
- Martin drove in all four runs of the game, a season-high, and tied for the second most by a Warrior this season.

Sydney Ozersky went 2-for-2 with a double. It was the sixth multiple-hit game of the season for Ozersky.

Rhodes Notes- The Lynx outhit the Warriors 10-8.
- Center fielder Kirsten Samuels went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, a RBI and a stolen base.
- Shortstop Erin Parker was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, two runs and two steals.
- Third baseman Christine Hume also had two hits.
- Pitcher Forrest Skelton (10-7) got the win and allowed eight hits, three earned runs and two walks.
