BRANDON, Miss. - The Hendrix College softball team shutout Centre College 8-0 in five innings on Sunday to win their third consecutive elimination game at the Southern Athletic Association Tournament.
The sixth-seeded Warriors (13-25) will face #25 Birmingham-Southern College, the second seed, at 1:30 p.m. in the semifinals. The winner will face top seed Berry at 4:30 p.m. in the championship game.
This is the fourth trip to the conference tournament semifinals for Hendrix. They made the semis in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament in 2006, 2007 & 2009.
The Warriors got off to a 3-0 start in the top of the first. Senior shortstop
Michaela Larabee led off with a base hit, then stole second. Freshman pitcher
Autumn Martin singled in Larabee for the first run. Martin scored on a triple from junior third baseman
Shelby Anderson. Freshman catcher
Nikki Sanders followed with a sacrifice fly.
Hendrix added five more runs on six hits in the fourth to secure the run-rule victory.

Rebecca Maeder, Larabee and Martin each had RBI-singles. Sophomore second baseman
Victoria Hughes knocked in a run on a sac bunt.
Martin and
Kayla Patton combined for the shutout, the Warriors' third shutout of the season and second in a row. Martin allowed one hit and a walk in three innings. Patton (3-9) earned the win with two strikeouts and a walk in two innings of relief.
Hendrix Notes- The Warriors outhit the Colonels 12-1.
- Martin recorded two runs and two RBI, her seventh multiple-RBI game of the year. She also stole her ninth base of the year.
- Larabee had two hits, a run and a run batted in. She also stole a base - her eighth of the tournament.
- Ozersky and freshman first baseman
Deva Bharne each had two hits as well.
- Anderson hit a triple and scored twice. Her triple was the ninth of her career, tying her for third in school history.
Centre Notes- The fifth-seeded Colonels end their season 14-18.
- Baylee Hadley recorded their only hit.
- Erika Brewer (6-6) took the loos, allowing seven hits, five earned runs and struck out two in 3.1 innings.
