MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Hendrix College men's basketball team lost their Southern Athletic Association opener to Rhodes College 112-96 on Wednesday.
The visiting Warriors (1-4, 0-1) led 17-16 with 10:48 left in the first period, but the Lynx (4-2, 1-0) ended up leading 51-36 at halftime. Rhodes pushed their advantage to as much as 23 points in the second half.
For the game, Hendrix shot 55.6 percent (30-of-54) overall, 5-of-13 from three-point range and 31-of-44 at the free throw line. They also had 38 rebounds, 19 assists, 27 turnovers, a block and six steals. Rhodes shot 46.2 percent (36-of-78) overall, 21-of-42 from outside and 19-24 from the line with 36 rebounds, 26 assists, 21 turnovers, one block and 15 steals.

- Senior guard
Hank Aldous led the Warriors with 27 points to go with seven rebounds, five assists, a block and three steals.

Preston Smith scored 18 points and had three assists.

Gearen Littlefield scored 15 points with six boards.

Travis Garrett chipped in 11 points and went 8-of-8 at the free throw line.
- Freshman guard
Jacob Link came off the bench to record nine points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Aaron Steele also scored nine points off the bench.

- Anesu Nywata scored 22 points with four rebounds and went 11-of-11 at the line.
- Daniel Darst had 14 points and four boards.
