#25 Warriors Sweep Centre, Advances to SAA Finals

CONWAY, Ark. - The 25th-ranked Hendrix College volleyball advanced to the Southern Athletic Association Tournament finals for the fourth straight year after sweeping Centre College 25-13, 25-19, 25-23 in the semifinals at Grove Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

The top-seeded Warriors (23-7) will play the winner between Birmingham-Southern and Berry Sunday at noon. Hendrix will be looking for their third consecutive tournament win and trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

The Warriors cruised to a 25-13 win in the first set, hitting .444 on 14 kills. They went on to take the second set 25-19. The fifth-ranked Colonels (13-15) erase a 19-11 deficit to tie the third set to take a 21-20 lead. Centre lead 23-22 when Hendrix won the final three points on a pair of kills from middle blocker Sara Dylsin and an ace by libero Leila Matsumoto. 

For the match, Hendrix hit .217 with 41 kills, nine aces, 70 digs and five blocks. Centre hit .101 with 30 kills, no aces, 70 digs and four blocks.

Hendrix Notes
- Dyslin led the Warriors with 10 kills and hit .444.
- Freshman outside hitter Lauren Dwyer connected on eight kills and had 14 digs.
- Junior right side Bradi Ryan also came up with eight kills and two blocks.
- Sophomore setter Amber Melcher tallied 18 assists and three aces.
- Senior Allison Gaia recorded 14 assists and eight dibs.
- Senior outside MC Rogers tallied 10 digs and four aces.
- Senior Samantha Stockdale added three kills and three blocks.
- Matsumoto finished with 21 digs.

Centre Notes
- Shelby Foote led the Colonels by hitting .471 with eight kills and 17 assists to go with nine digs.
- Hailey Foote had six kills, 10 digs and three blocks.
- Morgan Babey led the back row with 21 digs.
