CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's basketball team won their second game of the Cliff Garrison Classic with a 101-74 victory over Rust College at Grove Gymnasium Sunday afternoon.
The Warriors (3-4) dished out 33 assists, the third most in school history and only committed five turnovers. They shot a blistering 61.2 percent (41-of-67) from the field as well.
The Orange & Black led the Bearcats (1-8) 27-21 with 7:55 left in the first half before going on a 20-10 run to end the period, taking a 47-31 lead into the break. Hendrix at least an 11-point lead in the second half and led by as many as 27 on two occasions.
The Warriors also shot 12-of-26 from three-point range and 7-of-7 at the line with 36 rebounds, three blocks and a steal. Rust shot 41 percent (25-of-61) from the field, 8-of-17 from outside and 16-of-24 at the line with 27 boards, 18 assists, four turnovers, five blocks and four steals.
Hendrix Notes
- It was the first time the Warriors scored 100 in a game since Feb. 4, 2011 when they beat Southwestern 105-94 in overtime.
- Sophomore guard
Preston Smith scored 24 points with four rebounds and three assists. Smith was 7-of-10 from three-point range, tying for the second most made in a game in school history.
- Senior guard
Hank Aldous dropped in 23 points with seven boards and a career-high six assists.
- Senior center
Gearen Littlefield scored 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting to go with six rebounds, two assists and a pair of blocks.

Travis Garrett added 11 points with four assists and a block.
- Freshman guard
Jacob Link had seven points, five rebounds and five assists.
- Senior guard
Aaron Steele netted eight points with four boards and four assists.

Bryce Parker added seven points and four assists.
Rust Notes
- Allen Potts led the Bearcats with 22 points.
- Dominique Brown scored 19 points and made four 3-pointers.
- Antonio Jones recorded 15 points and 13 boards.
- Artez Harris added 10 points, six assists and two steals.
