MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Hendrix College men's lacrosse team lost to Huntingdon College 9-3 on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Hawks (5-1) scored four times in the first quarter, but the Warriors (0-3) cut their deficit in half with goals from juniors
Alex Ortenstone and
Cody Eckes in the second.
Huntingdon scored two more times in the third quarter and tacked on three in the fourth to go up 9-2. Freshman defenseman
Dominic Dachille scored his first career goal with just under four minutes left for the Warriors.
The Hawks outshot the Warriors 35-25 overall and but both teams had 17 shots on goal. Both teams recorded 20 ground balls and they split faceoffs 8-8. Hendrix went 11-of-12 on clear attempts, while Huntingdon was 18-of-22.
Hendrix Notes- Dachille caused a turnover to go with his goal.
- Ortenstone also picked up two ground balls and caused a turnover.

Jason Blatt led the Warriors with six ground balls and was 7-of-12 on faceoff attempts.

Graham Marcus and senior
Zachary Baier also caused a turnover each.
- Senior keeper
Dennis O'Hara recorded five saves in 52 minutes.
- Freshman
Jordan Eichholz had three saves in eight scoreless minutes in goal.
Huntingdon Notes- Jakob Works led the Hawks with three goals.
- Karson Hastings recorded a pair of assists.
- Mac Puller picked up five ground balls and scored a goal.
- Sam Hiatt went 8-of-16 on faceoffs.
- Fabien Gutierrez recorded 14 saves in goal.
Up NextHendrix will travel to Elmhurst College in Illinois on Friday.
