CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College softball team split their first Southern Athletic Association double-header of the season with Centre College at Warrior Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors (4-6, 1-1) won the first game 7-0, but the Colonels (3-3, 1-1) won game two 4-0.
Freshman
Emily Stockalper (4-2) threw an eight-hit, four-strikeout shutout in the opener for her fourth victory of the year. Sidney Spivey (0-1) lasted just 3.1 innings and allowed four hits, three earned runs and three walks in the loss.
The Warriors scored all seven runs in the bottom of the fourth on five hits, a walk and an error. Freshman catcher
Karli Sewell had a two-run triple in the inning and freshman right fielder
Savannah Draud drove in a pair on a single. Sophomore first baseman
Deva Bharne also had a run-scoring single. Draud and junior second baseman
Victoria Hughes scored on a wild pitch that slipped out of the pitcher's hand.
Colonel starter Erika Brewer (2-1) had a six-strikeout, four-hit shutout in game two. Freshman
Dasha Donahoe (0-3) took the loss, allowing three hits, one run and walking two with two strikeouts through three innings.
Centre scored in the third when first baseman Jessika Young drew a bases loaded walk. Right fielder Brittany Sears had a RBI-single in the sixth. Ashley Merkin plated a run on a triple and catcher Tori Silcox drove her for the final two runs in the seventh.
Hendrix Notes- Bharne recorded two hits and knocked in one in the opener.

Bryanna Carlisle went 2-for-2 with a run scored in the opener.
- Senior third baseman
Shelby Anderson hit the 40th double of her career in game one. She hit the 10th triple of her career in the nightcap, moving her into a tie for second place in school history.
Centre Notes- Shortstop Lauren Richards went 2-for-3 with a triple in game one.
- Merkin, Sears and Silcox each had two hits in game two.
Up NextHendrix and Centre will wrap up the series at noon on Sunday.
