Warriors Lose Late to Colonels

The visiting Colonels (4-3, 2-1) scored seven in the top of the seventh to earn the win. This was after the Warriors (4-7, 1-2) scored four in the bottom of the sixth to take a 5-3 lead.

Hendrix scored in the bottom of the second when freshman catcher Karli Sewell led off with a base hit, was bunted over by junior Sydney Ozersky, then crossed the plate on a double from sophomore first baseman Deva Bharne.

Centre took a 3-1 lead on a three-run homer to center field by catch Tori Silcox in the top of the third.

With two outs in the sixth, the Warriors rattled off five hits and a walk for four runs. Sewell doubled and Ozersky drove her in with another two-bag hit. Bharne drew a walk, followed by a RBI-single from sophomore left fielder Bryanna Carlisle. Pitcher Emily Stockalper hit an infield single, allowing Bharne to score. Freshman shortstop Skye Miller drove in the final run of the inning with a single down the left field line.

The Colonels took advantage of five hits, an error, a walk and a hit batter to score seven runs in the seventh. Cassidy Cook had a two-run double in the inning. First baseman Jessika Young also plated two with a single.
