MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Hendrix College men's lacrosse team opened Southern Athletic Association play with a 10-5 loss at Rhodes College Wednesday night.
The host Lynx (8-1, 1-0) jumped out a 5-0 lead in the first quarter. The Warriors (4-6, 0-1) scored the first two goals of the second, both by junior midfielder
Alex Ortenstone. After two goals by Tyler Milwit, Hendrix senior attacker
Zachary Baier scored on an assist from freshman
Cole Cramer to make the game 7-3 at half.
Baier assisted Cramer's goal to start the third quarter, then the Warriors made it 7-5 when
Travis Rabun scored with 11:49 left. Rhodes managed two more goals in the quarter then added one in the fourth for the final 10-5 tally.
Rhodes outshot Hendrix 29-20 overall and 17-8 on goal. The Warriors had a 21-19 edge in ground balls and won faceoffs 10-9.
Hendrix Notes- Ortenstone led the Warriors with two goals.
