CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's lacrosse team picked up their first Southern Athletic Association victory of the season with an 18-7 win over Millsaps College on Crafton-Faulkner Field at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium Saturday night.
The game was scoreless for the first nine and a half minutes, before the Warriors (5-6, 1-1) scored three goals in a 23-second span. The Majors (5-5, 0-2) added one nine seconds later to make the game 3-1 in the first.
Hendrix led 5-4 early in the second quarter before finding the net three more times to end the half with an 8-4 advantage.
Sophomore
Jason Blatt won the opening faceoff of the third quarter and scored six seconds in to make the game 9-4. The Majors picked up another goal before the Warriors rattled off six in a row to take a commanding 15-5 lead. Both teams added another score before the end of the third quarter.
Hendrix scored twice in the fourth quarter and Millsaps found the cage once.
The Warriors outshot the Majors 39-35 overall but 25-16 on goal. The Orange & Black led 47-33 in ground balls and faceoffs 19-10. Both teams caused 11 turnovers.
Hendrix Notes- Blatt scored twice, was 18-of-27 on faceoffs and picked up 14 ground balls. His ground balls and faceoffs won totals were both tied for the fourth most in school history.

Travis Rabun recorded four goals for the fifth time this season. He also had an assist.
- Freshman
Jack Gorman scored three times with three ground balls and a caused turnover.
- Senior attacker
Zachary Baier had two goals and an assist.
- Sophomore
Garrett Brown recorded his first goal of the year and assisted two.
- Junior midfielder
Alex Ortenstone had two goals and a pair of assists.
- Junior attacker
Cody Eckes also scored twice.
- Sophomore defenseman
Thomas Adamo scored a goal and caused three turnovers.
- Freshman defenseman
Dominic Dachille had a goal, an assist, eight ground balls and caused two turnovers.
- Junior
Ben Cunningham caused two turnovers as well.
- Senior Keeper
Joe Takacs recorded four saves in 45 minutes. Junior
Christian Wheeler had five saves in 13 minutes.
Millsaps Notes- Sam Snyder led the Majors with three goals.
- Jack Houtz won six faceoffs with seven ground balls, two goals and an assist.
- Garrett Perez had a goal, two assists and five ground balls.
- Brooks McCormick recorded four caused turnovers.
- Pat Fredella stopped seven shots in goal.
Up NextHendrix will host Berry College in another conference game on Friday.
