Warriors Drop Series Finale to Majors

CONWAY, Ark. - After splitting Saturday's double-header, the Hendrix College softball team lost to Millsaps College 3-1 at Warrior Field in Southern Athletic Association action Sunday afternoon.

The host Warriors (10-12, 5-7) had the first run of the game in the bottom of the third. With two outs, sophomore right fielder Bryanna Carlisle drew a walk and scored on a double to left field by senior third baseman Shelby Anderson.

The Majors (13-10, 2-1) scored all three of their runs in the top of the fourth. Left fielder Katelyn Murray doubled to left to lead off the inning. After two outs, third baseman Kaitlyn Casias doubled in Murray to tie it up. Mary Kate Bozeman singled, moving Casias to third then Kathryn Romero hit an infield single which would have loaded the bases, but Casias crossed the plate after an error on the throw. Bozeman scored on a base hit from shortstop Missy Romero.

Hendrix loaded the bases with one out in the sixth, but were not able to score.

Millsaps hurler Cassidy DeNoon (9-5) earned the win, allowing five hits, one run, three walks and three hit batters with five strikeouts.
