CLERMONT, Fla. - The Hendrix College softball team won their fifth consecutive game at The Spring Games at Legends Way Ballfields on Thursday with a 2-0 win over Benedictine University.
The Warriors (15-12) had a combined three-hit shutout from freshmen
Dasha Donahoe and
Savannah Draud. Donahoe (5-4) allowed three hits and struck out one in five innings to earn her fifth win of the year. Draud picked up her third save with a perfect final two innings.
Melissa Guzior (4-2) allowed five hits, two runs, a walk and struck out two in the loss for the Eagles (8-4).
Hendrix scored both runs in the bottom of the fourth. Sophomore right fielder
Bryanna Carlisle led off with an infield single and senior third baseman
Shelby Anderson drew a walk. A ground ball from
Nikki Sanders moved both runners into scoring position. Freshman catcher
Karli Sewell followed with a double to center field, scoring Carlisle and Anderson.
Hendrix Notes- Sewell had the Warriors' only extra-base hit and extended her hitting streak to seven games.
- Anderson's run was the 117th of her career, breaking yet another program record. She passed Kristen Juarez (2004-07) mark of 116.
- Carlisle also recorded a sacrifice bunt.

Madi Fires and Donahoe recorded the Warriors' other hits.
Benedictine Notes- Shortstop Shannon Fritsche hit a triple.
- Center fielder Angie Malsack recorded a double.
- Holly Haberkorn had the only other hit.
