BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - After splitting a double-header on Saturday, the Hendrix College baseball team lost 8-3 at #6 Birmingham-Southern College on Sunday.
?The Warriors remain in second place in the Southern Athletic Association at 19-15 overall and 12-6 in league play. The Panthers stay in first at 25-9 and 14-4 with three games left.
?Hendrix will battle fourth place Millsaps in a three-game series next weekend, while BSC takes on third place Berry.
?The Panthers took a lead in the first when catcher A.J. Hunt's single that was trapped in left field scored three runs.

Jorge Leon led off with a base hit and junior left fielder
Wyatt Hogan drew a one-out walk. Freshman shortstop
Tanner Cooper followed with a base hit to load the bases. Sophomore catcher
Justin Robison plated two runs on a single up the middle, then advanced to second on an errant throw.Â
Matthew Lillard knocked in Cooper with a ground ball out.
?BSC regained the lead in the bottom of the third on a two-run double from Hunt. They added another run in the fourth and two more in the fifth to make the game 8-3.
?Kyle Royalty (5-0) earned the win, allowing five hits, two earned runs, three walks and fanning one over five innings. Three relievers combined to only allow one base runner over the final four innings. Hendrix junior
Harley Faye (4-3) took the loss, lasting just 3.2 frames. Junior
Connor Nelson struck out two and walked two over 3.2 scoreless innings.
