Warriors Downed by Colonels on the Road

DANVILLE, Ky. - The Hendrix College men's lacrosse team wrapped up the regular season with a 13-5 loss at Centre College in Southern Athletic Association action Sunday.

?The Colonels (10-4, 6-1) and Warriors (6-10, 2-5) were tied 4-4 with 3:33 left in the second quarter, before Centre netted three goals in the final 1:31 of the half. They went on to scored six consecutive goals in the second half before Hendrix found the cage with 20 seconds left.

?For the game, the Colonels outshot the Warriors 42-26 and 25-14 on goal. Centre held a 29-26 advantage in ground balls and won the faceoff battle 14-8. Hendrix caused 11 turnovers and CC caused 13.

?- Freshman Joe Graves led the Warrior offense with two goals and an assist.
- Jack Gorman, Travis Rabun and Alex Ortenstone also recorded goals.
- Cole Cramer and Cody Eckes each assisted a goal.
?- Senior defenseman Kevin Estell tied his season high with three ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers.
- Sophomore Thomas Adamo also caused two turnovers.
?- Senior keeper Joe Takacs recorded 12 saves and four ground balls.

Centre Notes
- Seth Gray led the Colonels with three goals and three assists.
?- Joe Lencewicz had three goals and an assist.
- Dominic Peluso added two goals and an assist.
- Phil Havira caused three turnovers.
?- Bryant Portwood won 14 faceoffs and picked up three ground balls.
?- Samuel Long stopped nine shots in goal.

Up Next
?Hendrix, who will be the sixth seed, will open the Southern Athletic Association Tournament on Saturday. They will most likely play at Berry College, but the official bracket comes out late Sunday.
