CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College 2016 baseball campaign came to an end Sunday afternoon with a 9-4 loss to Rhodes College in the Southern Athletic Association Tournament at Warrior Field.
The Warriors finished the season with at 23-19, tying the program for wins with the 2014 squad. Rhodes improves to 25-18 and will face Birmingham-Southern or Berry in the SAA Tournament finals series.
The Lynx broke open a scoreless game with seven runs on five hits, two walks and a hit batter in the top of the fourth. Shortstop Bill Munson drove in second baseman Nathan Foshee with a single in the fifth to make the game 8-0.
Hendrix scored in the bottom of the fifth when freshman
Jorge Leon singled and scored on a double by sophomore
Drew Judson.
Rhodes added one more run in the eighth. The Warriors managed a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame, with sophomore
Matthew Lillard driving in
Tanner Cooper from third on a ground ball and freshman
Josh Walker scoring on a wild pitch.
They scored one more run in the ninth when Lillard drew a bases loaded walk.
Adam Putnam (3-4) earned the win for the Lynx. He went five innings and gave up five hits, one run, two walks and struck out seven. Freshman starter Taylor Baker (2-2) suffered the loss for the Warriors.

- Nichol was named to the All-Tournament Team for his performance in the win over Centre on Friday.
- Lillard drove in two runs on a walk and a sac fly.
- Leon finished with two hits.
- Judson also recorded two hits for his 21st multiple-hit game of the year. He also extended his hitting streak to eight games.
- Sophomore catcher
Justin Robison had two hits, including a triple.
- Walker scored a run and stole a base to go with a single.

- Right fielder Levi Greenberg drove in three runs with a triple in the fourth.
- Center fielder Ryan Olive recorded a triple and a pair of singles.
- Foshee hit three triples, drove in three and scored twice.
- Munson also recorded three hits and stole three bases.
