SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Hendrix College men's lacrosse team lost 17-2 at Southern Athletic Association leader Sewanee - The University of the South Friday evening.
The Tigers (9-3, 6-0) outshot the visiting Warriors (6-9, 2-4) 61-14 overall and 34-5 on goal. Sewanee led in ground balls 52-19 and faceoffs 10-3. Hendrix committed 32 turnovers, compared to 14 for Sewanee.
The Tigers led 7-0 after the first quarter and 10-0 at halftime. Freshman
Drew Scanlan picked up the first goal of the third quarter for the Warriors. Junior midfielder
Alex Ortenstone also scored for Hendrix in the quarter. Sewanee scored three times in the third and four more times in the final period.
Hendrix Notes- Scanlan's goal was the fifth of the season for the freshman.
- Ortenstone picked up his 19th goal of the year and caused a turnover.
- Senior defenseman
Dan D'Ostuni and junior Ben Cunningahm both caused two turnovers.
- Senior keeper
Joe Takacs recorded 14 saves, four ground balls and caused a turnover in three quarters.

Sewanee Notes- Robbie Berndt led the Tigers with five goals and five ground balls.
- Hayden Hunt had two goals and two assists.
- Cason Liles went 10-of-11 on faceoffs.
- Jimmy Parker, Brooks Young, Will Pratt and Jake Chintz scored two goals a piece.
