Warriors Fall to Colonels on Senior Day

CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's lacrosse team lost their regular season finale to 18-5 to Centre College at Warrior Field on Saturday.

The Warriors (7-6, 1-5 Southern Athletic Association) honored their lone senior, defender Sybil Watkins, before the game.

With the win, the Colonels (9-4, 4-1) move into a tie into first place with Birmingham-Southern with one game to play. Hendrix has completed their SAA schedule and will be the sixth seed in the SAA Tournament starting Apr. 22. The Warriors will have to wait until next weekend to find out who they will play in the opening round.

Hendrix sophomore attacker Bridget Umble scored the first goal of the game on a pass from freshman Morgan Dasch just 3:12 into the contest. Centre scored the next three goals and the game remained 3-1 until just over eight minutes left in the first half when Dasch netted her 27th goal of the year. The Colonels scored four more times before the end of the half, taking a 7-2 lead into the break.

Centre outscored Hendrix 11-3 in the second half.

The Colonels outshot the Warrirors 38-17 overall and 32-12 on goal. Centre led in ground balls 30-22 and draw controls 22-3. Hendrix caused 10 turnovers, while Centre caused 11.

Hendrix Notes
- Dasch led the Warriors with two goals and two assists. She now has 28 of each on the year and is tied for the conference lead with 56 points.
- Umble's goal was the 40th of the season.
- Sophomore Reilly Frazier and junior Raychl Reger both scored for the 17th time on the season.
- Reger also recorded a career-high seven ground balls and tied her best with four caused turnovers.
- Junior defender Gabryele Pochron also caused four turnovers and sophomore Kaitlyn Smith had two.
- Freshman keeper Alexis Truitt had 14 saves and six ground balls.

Centre Notes
- Jacqueline Anderson led the Colonels with six goals and three assists.
- Hannah Bellamah had four goals, an assist and four ground balls.
- Colleen Jackson recorded three goals and three assists.
- Ellen Resinger won 15 draw controls.
- Natalie Marek had seven saves.

Hendrix will have to wait another week to find out who they will open the SAA Tournament with on Apr. 22.
