SHERMAN, Texas - The 19th-ranked Hendrix College volleyball kicked off the Austin College Invitational with a 25-15, 25-13, 25-20 win over McMurry University Friday afternoon.

The Warriors (2-3) took the first set easily with 13 kills, while the War Hawks (3-3) only managed five kills and hit -.081. The second set was tied 8-8, but Hendrix outscored McMurry 17-5 the rest of the way. The Orange & Black hit .346 with 12 kills, while the War Hawks hit .000 with eight kills.

The third set was knotted at 19 each, but Hendrix rattled off six of the next seven points to win the game 25-20. The Warriors connected on 13 kills in the set.

For the match, Hendrix hit .227 with 38 kills, five aces, 54 digs and four blocks. McMurry hit .059 with 24 kills, two aces, 51 digs and three blocks.

Hendrix Notes
- Freshman outside hitter Lauren Dwyer made her collegiate debut and hit .321 with 11 kills and eight digs.
- Senior outside MC Rogers recorded eight kills, nine digs and three blocks.
- Senior middle blocker Samantha Stockdale tallied three total blocks, including one solo.
- Senior Allison Gaia assisted 20 kills with seven digs, while senior Holyn Radack had 16 assists.
- Senior libero Leila Matsumoto came up with a season-best 20 digs.

McMurry Notes
- Jordyn Burnell led the War Hawks with seven kills.
- Baylie Barnes had five kills and two aces.
- Emarie James recorded 10 assists.
- Odalis Rodriguez led the McMurry defense with 15 digs.
